She does not do anything remotely green or natural. As far as she is concerned Central Park is all the green the world needs. She likes her concrete-filled city just the way it is. But as the leading ad “man” at her firm, she’s given the incredible job of creating the new magazine spread for a clothing line that’s totally green.

They care nothing about the world that is their home. But he must mate. And with a human. Once his gaze catches sight of the tall, dark-skinned full figured woman that is Yahara, he decides humans aren’t so bad.

Yahara shifted from her left to right foot as she stared up at the seemingly endless path that lead up the hill. She glared at the trail. According to Kauri she was supposed to haul her big ass up it.

“You’re kidding, right?”

“Afraid of a few trees?”

One dark eyebrow lifted. He had to be kidding. She wasn’t afraid of a few trees. She was terrified of the pollen, plants, and animals that lived along the trail. Woods were her natural born enemy, but she wasn’t about to tell the hottest man she’d ever met that. “No, I’m not,” she muttered.

“Great.”

“That doesn’t mean I’m going to trek my ass up there.” She turned and headed back toward her cabin. Unfortunately, it wasn’t going to be a quick walk. It had taken them nearly twenty minutes to reach the beginning of the path and that was because Kauri had carried both of their backpacks. She was not looking forward to the walk home.

When he’d talked of a date she’d pictured herself in a black dress, him in dress slacks, and a candlelit table between them. She had not dreamed of flies, dirt, and the sound of critters in the distance. No fucking sirree!

If Kauri’s ass had not been so fine, she wouldn’t have even considered taking her hiking boots out of the box. But no, she’d let his muscles, dark brown eyes and sexy, overgrown mahogany hair get the best of her.

She blamed her response entirely on her dry spell.

For Christ’s sake, what self-respecting black city girl starts hunkering for a white nature boy?

The sexy bastard probably lived off granola.

“Yahara!”

She shook her head and picked up her pace. “No way, Jose. That damned thing is two miles up.”

Yahara had made the mistake of asking Kauri how far their trail was right before they reached it. She’d laughed so hard, she thought she’d broken something. And then she looked at his face. Yahara immediately sobered up.

He was serious.

And after taking a look at the trail, Yahara knew she was not climbing it.

“Stop running away.” The words seemed to rumble around her seconds before his long, strong fingers grasped her arm. She glanced down at his hand before lifting her gaze and glaring at him. “Why are you touching me?”

He smiled.

Both eyebrows lifted at that. Either the man was stupid or brave. She’d given him the, “Do you want to keep your manhood” voice and he’d smiled at her like she’d just asked the time.

“What if I promise to give you something very special when you reach the top?”

Visions of them together, limbs tangled immediately flashed through her mind. She pushed them aside and gritted her teeth before shaking her arm from his grip. “This better be damned good,” she growled before turning and heading back to the trail.

I was thrown for a loop until I saw which novel page the search engines landed on. Violet Storm. Hmm, well that makes sense. Violet Storm is about a mixed fairy who takes a gorgeous blond elf on a tour of a nightclub’s naughtier rooms.

I guess that kind of falls into the category of couples caught behaving naughtily since one of the rooms they enter is exhibitionist, but really…?Why did google send them to my site? Were the triple x-rated sites down at that moment?

Sigh…I just know that person was disappointed as heck once they started reading my excerpt.

On another note, in the last week and a half I’ve been writing like a demoness. I finished Beauty on Fire, a short story and I’ve completed more than thirty (30) percent of my novella Forbidden Love. I also have twenty (20) percent of the first novella in my X-Games anthology completed. I’ve also been working on edits and rewrites.

On top of all that writing, I started outlining my next round of stories. I can’t really tell you guys anything about them until they are more concrete, but I’m very excited. Very excited. <g>.

Another check in? Yay! At least that’s how I would be feeling if I wasn’t ill. Some 48hr bug hit me. I struggled with it on Monday, pretending to be invisible. On Tuesday, it took me down for the count. I work up this morning, much later than I would have liked feeling a lot better. *dances just a little before sitting down quickly cause unknown muscles still hurt*

Back to the original topic -> So far I’ve been doing pretty well with my daily goals. I told myself I wanted to write approximately 1,500 words a day or a total of 10,500 words a week. I reached that last week. And it looks like I’ll still reach it this week even considering the fact that I didn’t write that much yesterday (750 words) and the day before (1500 words). I’m technically doing well because I’m forcing myself to write about 2,000 words a day so that way I’m not playing catch up at the end of the week.

No catch up here. Plenty of goal achievements.

So far I’m over 75% done Tied and Tempting. I’ve started Beauty on Fire, Forbidden Love and X-Games.

The BIG PROBLEM is X-Games is my target story, what I hope to have accomplished by the end of the Sweating with Sven session and so far I’ve only got 3,500 words completed. I’m not quite so worried about it because I knew, coming in, that I wouldn’t be able to focus on X-Games until Tied and Beauty on Fire were completed. So now it’s a mad dash to finish them so I can work on X-Games.

Until next check in…

Yes, I’m participating in the Sweating with Sven challenge. You wouldn’t know it from the fact that I have not written a single post about it, but *shrugs*. I have always done things at my own pace.

The funny thing is that although I haven’t been writing blog posts, I’ve been keeping up with my daily goals. I’m almost halfway through Tied and Tempting and I’ve started my two new WIPs, Beauty on Fire and X-Games. Yesterday I wrote 2,500 words. Not bad considering I wasn’t feeling well.

I might post a snippet of my current WIPs when I’ve gotten a little more completed. Until next check in…

Okay, so I got tagged by Selena. I lurv reading others, so I guess its about time I stepped up to the plate. Here goes…

I believe that honesty is a lost element of seduction. There is nothing quite like having a man tell you you’re beautiful and have him actually mean it.

For me, a handsome man in black is always devastating. Black leather. Black, tight jeans. Black suit. All make my heart skip a beat.

I LUV chocolate period. Doesn’t matter what kind, whether milk, dark or even white. No other flavors are required for my satisfaction. Hand me a bar of Hershey’s and I’m yours.

I have a wicked fascination with male redheads…which might explain my love for Scotland. Haven’t been there (yet), but I’m sure when I finally touch down I’ll be in heaven.

I love flowers but hate red roses.

I know I’m supposed to tag five other people, but most of the people I wanted to tag have been tagged, so I’m going to buck the system and tag Celia Kyle.

Violet Storm

Available from Changeling Press

is a finalist for the Fantasm Awards. Please click the link to vote for me and check out the story information below.

Storm Night is not like other magical creatures. She is a mixed breed. Blessed with the gifts from her mother, a flower fair, and her father, a Nightstalker Cyclops, she feels she is perfect.

Too bad not everyone agrees.

In celebration of her entrance to the OtherKin realm’s most prestigious school of medicinal wizardry, she and her best friend Mira intend to party the night away at Yellow Brick, the hottest club in the realm.

Sipping her drink, minding her business, she hears him and his friends. They are talking about her. They are… intrigued by the fact that she is a Breed. To Storm’s horror, Isaias bets five thousand cipros he can get her to kiss him by the end of the night.

Storm is willing to play along to a point. Yellow Brick is not like other clubs. It has special rooms for its most cherished patrons. With a spell card that allows her downstairs, Storm is armed and ready. She has every intention of making sure that the beautiful, blond royal elf realizes that it’s not nice to play games with a woman’s emotions. Especially when the woman is not opposed to doing every naughty, dirty, erotic trick in the book to make you scream.

Here are the famous words that I pray that we as a nation and as individuals never forget.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification” — one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And this will be the day – this will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning:

My country ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.

Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim’s pride,

From every mountainside, let freedom ring!

And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.

The truth is we have come so far, but we haven’t come far enough. So ask that on this day, we all look beyond our boundaries, especially if it means loving outside color lines.
